Interesting Early Mock Draft (Gilmore, Jeffery, Ingram news)

Found it interesting that SI projects Gilmore in the first round, along with Ingram. Jeffery nowhere to be found

  • "28. New England Patriots (From New Orleans Saints) -- Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina

The Patriots are never predictable, but you have to figure they'll go pretty heavy on defense in this draft. They've seemed hesitant to take a pass-rusher, but they need to improve in that area. Scouts are waiting to see how Ingram runs to see where he'll be slotted. New England could also look at Clemson DE Andre Branch here."

Waiting to see how he runs?? For real?? Look at the Georgia tape. Period.

  • -Robert Griffin III is a phenomenal college player, but I'm shocked to see him projected as the 2nd pick in the draft. Just seems like a reach to me, I guess Cam Newton, Michael Vick, and Tim Tebow are changing the NFL mentality on dual threat QB's.
-I'll be shocked if Melvin Ingram goes as low as pick 28, he's got superstar written all over him.
-I agree that Gilmore may be able to work his way into the 1st round with a really good performance at the combine.
-If any team gets Alshon in the 2nd round it will be one of the biggest steals in draft history.

  • Griffin is a better passer and has more speed than Cam. Some people have him going first.

  • I don't know how Griffin will play in a more traditional offense, but he is a much better passer than Vick or Tebow were in college.

He is extremely accurate and has a cannon.

Sorry man, I'm going to wait until Griffin breaks the rookie passing record in the NFL before I give him the title of better passer...

  • If Alshon doesnt get picked up in first round...The colts will snag him at the drop of a hat with the first pick in the second and give Luck his go-to reciever for the next 12 years.

  • i have a dumb question, but why dont they have the combine before the players make the decision to go pro? why not just hold it before players have to declare. its not like nfl coaches have to be there to scout. everything about the player is measured and videotaped from every angle. why not push back national signing day. push back when college players have to decide, and have the combine sooner? when you look at the structure it really hampers the high school and college players.

It should be just like baseball, you can draft anyone you want after 3 years of college, then the players decides to sign or not based on the money offer. the only reason this will not work is baseball draft is after school it out and football is during school. Also the baseball draft you get 50 rounds instead of 7

I've seen RGIII in person (wife is a Baylor alum and her family has season tix) - the kid throws a nice looking ball. I live in DC and the Skins are desperate to rid themselves of Sexy Rexy Grossman...I've never seen a fan base despise one of their own like the Skins faithful despise Grossman...and they want RGIII. I think that factors highly in his going early in the first round.

Thank you, RGIII is amazing and i think he has the ability to be a good/great NFL QB, but C'MON MAN.

Big Panthers fan here if ya can't tell, i have herd from some that the panthers are looking to trade their pick for two late first round picks somehow, and draft a corner (jenkins) and a wideout (jeffery). if jeffery doesn't happen look for a DT or OLB to be taken ( i have herd MI6's name been thrown around if the staff is truly looking to switch to a 3-4, but i don't think it is likely). Finally, the panthers are most hopeful that jeffery does not grade out well and falls to the 2nd round where they would proceed to take him. The panthers love drafting local talent and they have targeted Jeffery. I hope Jeffery gets first round money, but being a panthers fan i wouldn't be to upset if he did fall to the second round.

Reggie Wayne? Pierre Garcon? I'm not so sure that the Colts wouldn't go a different route. (No disrespect to AJ)

    Wayne is gone.

  • I don't know much about Tannehill, but if the Dolphins pass on another 1st round QB, there's going to be a meltdown in Miami.
