Halftime …Frank Martin must be pretty good at halftime. Each game, the Cocks have looked remarkably better in the second half than the first. Maybe he just stares at them for 15 minutes.

Good insights Alex. I am learning a lot about basketball and about the Gamecocks from your columns. Since my favorite thing in sports is USC basketball, your column has become my favorite thing to read on TBS.

Carrera has not been cleared to practice. He did some walk-through stuff last night. I don't know if he will be cleared for tonight's game or not but even if he is, I doubt he'll start or play a ton since he hasn't practiced in a week.

Can a basketball player practice with some sort of a helmet?

Thank you for the positive feedback, everybody. I wrote a little more this week, and I appreciate people taking the time to read. I am having fun with this, and I am glad you are too.
It will not take 5 years for this team to be "relevant." I would say that, upon hiring Coach Martin, this team became relevant. His personality and mannerisms bring the public and media attention, and his coaching will win games that people don't expect us to win. Recruits will hear about our program more with him at the helm. Rome wasn't built in a day, but I heard they had some pretty great parties while it was still under construction.
