No. His actions were disappointing, but he took us to an SEC east title and defeated #1 Alabama.

Demetrius and Watson have to be up there as well. I was always a Garcia fan and I think the disappointment is that he really had the talent and the heart to be something special. He simply lacked the desire and the maturity. I wish the best for him and hope he is successful in football and in life.

For baseball, Adam Matthews comes to mind. Kid's been billed as a 5-tool player with 1st round talent, but he's just never put it together. Statistically he's gotten progressively worse each year. Just doesn't make any sense. Maybe it's the bats? Who knows. Hope the kid does well in his pro career.

a list of most disappointing players would include: Quinton Richardson, Moe Thompson, OJ Murdock, JJ Brown, Kenrick Ellis, Weslye Saunders, and Jarvis Giles. And the biggest dissapointment, at least to me, was Demetris Summers.
Garcia currently ranks on in the top 5 of most of our QB lists. led us to a win over no. 1 Alabama, led us to the SEC title game and has wins over Bama, Fla, Uga, Ut and Clemson - a boast no other Gamecock QB can make. He is on a list with Derek Watson - two players who did great things in Columbia and I loved to watch both - but they never really totally fulfilled their promise.

Good post. I like how your first grouping of players left on relatively bad terms. I think it's wrong to trash a guy like 5 star Ricardo Hurley who, though he under delivered on his recruiting ranking, was still a 4 year letterman who had minimal off the field issues.

Only two straight wins over clemsux. We do that every 40 years like clockwork. And don't get me started on how common SEC East titles and wins over the #1 team in the nation are around here.
Plus he only got caught with girls in his hotel room once. With dedication, he should have been able to do that multiple times.
