JC, TM, Jeoffrey Pagan question ....

How does a guy like Pagan end up #42 ranked in Rivals data base after underachieving and following a major knee injury? I have always heard Clemson's Rivals guy had allot of pull, is that the case or is that kid just that good?

To be fair, Clemson wasn't really in on him until very late in the process, as far as I know. I think he was a Florida commit for some time.

I saw from the Floriduh side of it that they felt he'd have be 2nd string at best for the next 3 years because of who was ahead of him ( I don't know who that is) and with the coaching staff turnover and hit injury, they are good with him moving on.
That is the UF spin of course. No telling if that's true.

And there's your answer. Prospects who are committed to, or are being heavily pursued by, the elite programs (and Florida is still one, despite their poor season) tend to get higher marks from Rivals et. al. than kids who aren't. That's why the recruiting services miss on a lot of recruits who go on to be good players.
