like Auburn's affect their recruiting in both the short term and long term? Apparently the apartment complex where this happened houses mostly Auburn students. It appears the players, current and former, were merely bystanders.
I'm not saying it's right for other schools to use this against them. However, I can't imagine at least some programs not capitalizing on this. How nasty do you think this will get?

Get a clue. And I suppose schools in the country don't say a suburban school has gangs, etc. that can make a school unsafe?!!? Maybe not today nor tomorrow, but this will definitely be used in the future by some in recruiting battles.

Floodcock, definitely is an extremely sensitive situation, but I would be one to agree that this day and age, yes there will be programs/coaches, etc use this to their advantage in the recruiting process. It is sad, but true, because the truth is, this type of event can happen anywhere at anytime. I know from personal experience as I had a gun put to my head in college at a complex in Rock Hill that primariy housed Winthrop University students. It is just a sad situation altogether, but hopefully the current and future recruits and their parents/guardians can see straight through the programs/coaches that do indeed choose to stoop so low that they use a tragedy such as this to their advantage because again, this can happen anywhere.

BTW, it's my understanding that some recruits were there (shooting site) while on unofficials and Auburn camps. You think parents would freak after hearing about this, no matter how tragic or innocent the players were?

don't know why floodcock is being downvoted. he brings up a good point. after the initial shock of hearing of the situation, I couldn't help but think what current recruits and commits think about this.....nothing wrong with that.

If this same thing happened in Columbia, I am sure that Dabo and company would sit quietly by and not say a thing when they were recruiting. Okay, they might be quiet for let's say 48 hours but Katie bar the door after that....It will be used in the world of recruiting for sure....Might be a little innappropriate in the timing of this question but this question would surface before long.....JMHO

I'd imagine it's the same reaction that happened with the VT shooting - crazy occurrence that cant be counted as the norm. Honestly, this could happen anywhere at anytime, I think people realize this in the long term.
