Jay Cutler, will he get cut by Bears for quitting on his team?

  • That was really pathetic, imo, iyam, fwiw.

    SCarcock

  • Coach said he was injured

    Plano

  • Should be. He quit and the third string guy played better than all of them, including Rogers.

  • Im a Bears fan. He needed to take the needle and get back out there. Start shopping him now.

  • I think you are making a big assumption. If his knee was injured it would affect his ability to plant and throw the football, which might explain why he was constantly throwing off his back foot.

Hard to say from our couches whether he could have gutted it out, or whether he was too injured to be effective, no matter how hard he tried.

  • Jay Cutler is a world renowned ussy. Today was pathetic, but not shocking. It is widely known his unit is amongst the smallest in the league, even if you include the kickers. Guy's done in Chicago. The Jockey came in and rallied the troops, but apparently didn't have the nuts to leave the stache on for the post gamer. Big time QB issues in Chicago. They'd of been better off with Orton.

  • Jay Quitler. Dude is a serious headcase.shrug

  • There's a rumor saying that he tore his MCL. He probably couldn't set his feet properly to pass accurately.

  • no need to wait for the facts to make a decision.

if he is not injured...he is a quitter............. if he is injured, those who are calling him out sound stupid

  • Regardless we can all agree the dude is a prick.

I don't necessarily agree with all the other things being said in this thread but I can say you hit the nail on the head with that statement.

Ahh.......the voice of reason has no place on this board when the sharks are in the water....as in got off their keesters to get another beer and chips. It always amazes me that other people voice opinions like this.He has trainers and medical personnel to assess his ability to play. How stevecook can come out from behind his stove and make that call baffles me.

  • The person that needs to be fired is Jerry Angelo the Bears Gm.

How can you have a 40 year old qb as your second stringer?

The dude threw 5 interceptions against the Panthers this year!! You remember them .. the LAST PLACE Panthers?

Angelo's ability .. or lack of ability, to put together a full team is pathetic. He can't draft, he can't get free agents period.

I was furious to see Cutler on the sidelines .. but after the game Urlacher pointed out that the guy is always at practice, takes many hits and keeps going ... If anyone would have been mad at him it would have been Urlacher. I have calmed down a bit after that ....

If it isn't anything more than a bruise they need to trade or cut him.

Sad to be wanting the guys knee to be messed up ... but .. at least it would explain some things.

  • I dont think you would ever see Cutler quit.....not in the kids makeup.....he may be overly cocky but not a quitter.....he took more than his share of tuff hits at vandy and never laid down....I doubt he would start doing it in the biggest game of his career

    JICOCK21

  • Cutler's a punk that gvrew up a Colts fans. I would have cared what Urlacher thought five years ago before he the team out with his holdouts.

I thought yall liked Angelo? I dont agree with his philosophy on building a team but he has done pretty good from the outside looking in. A lot of teams have 40 year old or very experienced backups. Most teams lean that way instead of a younger player that doesnt know whats going on.

  • Angelo has been the GM since 2002 I think .. here is his draft choices:

    http://www.databasefootball.com/draft/draftteam.htm?tm=chi&lg=nfl

2005 and 2003 were pretty good .. but the rest ..wow ... maybe 2 decent picks the entire draft.

A 40 year old qb would be fine as a back up if he had been good at any time during his career. John Kitna - great back up to have.

After throwing 5 interceptions at Carolina, he should have known they needed a better option than Collins
