Jenkins talks offer, Carolina roots

    South Carolina recently scouted 2013 combo forward Kris Jenkins in Pittsburgh at an AAU event. Not long after, the Gamecocks stepped forward with an offer.

  • Plays at a great program in DC, I played in the same league in HS before going to USC, can't say enough about the competition level Jenkins goes against. I moved back into the area and am covering DC basketball on the side from my 9-5. I will have to get out to more WCAC games this fall and scout Jenkins a bit for everyone else to read. Really hope Frank can land this one.

    Night and day...Thornwell is a playmaker with the ball in his hands...A great passer who can get to the bucket. A little Larry Hughes-ish...Jenkins is mid range and in guy who uses thick thighs and ass and broad shoulders to gain position and keep it...He also has quickness and decent touch on a mid range pick and pop...Barkley was a apt compare...

    Thornwell is a 2/3 (more 2), Jenkins a 3/4 (more 4)...

  • I can only imagine the kind of rim rattling thunder dunks this kid could do. Talk about bringing down the house. 6'5'' 245 in HS translates to 6'6'' 235 and absolutely "cut" after a yr on the training table and in the conditioning program.

    SOunds like a man-child to me. His offers are from top shelf schools. The Big East and Big 10 are already on him. Hopefully FM2 can close on the deal and bring him back home.
