Don't be fooled. This is an attack on the SEC. Both Delany and Swofford hate the SEC and will do anything to reduce or minimize the SEC strength whether that be football or baseball or woman's gymnastics. Does not matter.
Maybe Delany should spend more time improving the quality of Big Ten football rather then worrying about baseball. His conference like his fellow TarHole buddy from the ACC continually put garbage out in the field. Or better yet maybe he should stop trying to protect and cover up for his alma mater and all their cheating from the NCAA.

I think it's more of a case that the CWS is becoming a bigger and bigger event. ESPN does a great job showcasing it for 10 days or whatever the case might be. And it eats Delany alive that his precious Big 10 is not a part of it. Well, tough. Do something about it then. There's nothing inherently stopping them from competing...UConn made a super regional...beat some teams and put yourself in position to crash the party.
Do we have a geographical advantage? Sure, of course. But the University of Florida has an advantage on Carolina in college football because of the recruiting base. Should we limit them to signing only 10 in-state kids a year?
The bottom line is they can put the resources and hiring into fielding competitive Big 10 teams but they aren't doing it. And it galls Delany that the CWS has become a real showcase event on ESPN so now he wants to whine and shortcut his way into national prominence.

Ohio State went down to Florida State for a regional a couple years ago and embarrassed themselves losing 31-4 or something like that...Big 10+2, stick to ice hockey you cry babies.
