Justin Hunter (wr UT) running his mouth

I think UT has the potential to be the best offense in the SEC if all those knuckleheads and primadonnas get their act together. There defense is still very weak and suspect, but they are going to score points if healthy and eligible.

really? they were 9th in total offense last year, behind MSU and Vandy.

Everyone gushes about their passing game, and yes, the overall stats look good (240 ypg, 3rd in the SEC). However, they were pretty pedestrian passing the ball in conference games, averaging just 25 more yards than us through the air (195.3 vs. 170.9). I think most everyone can agree that our passing offense was pretty mediocre for long stretches last year, especially the end of the Garcia era, and the beginning of the Shaw era (excepting UK).

Meanwhile, they were dead last in rushing yards per game, the only SEC team to average less than 100 ypg (90.08). In conference games, they were truly terrible, averaging just over 2 yards per carry on over 27 attempts (63.5 y/g).

Yes, if he stays healthy and out of trouble, the knucklehead can sling the rock, but I still don't think they're going to have a running game. Leading rusher Tauren Poole is gone. They signed one 4* RB last year, so maybe he'll have an impact... It remains to be seen if that OL can run block.

Add to that the mass exodus of assistant coaches last year... I think it's more likely they lose 7 games than win 9. But i'm terrible about predicting these things.

I also don't have time to teach you how to speak hobo.

  • All I want to know is, where is LAWDOG? A perfectly good UT bashing thread thread and he's nowhere to be found? I know he's got some thoughts/opinions on UTk's upcoming season....no better insight than a gamecock behind enemy lines...

I agree to a point about not praising them to much, but those stats are skewed quite a bit. Bray and Hunter were hurt most of the year. We had a competent backup, they didn't.
