Kelcy Quarles

  • Anybody else think he may go pro after this year? Personally I think he's going to have a great year and will strongly consider it at least.

  • No.

    Fomerly known as Garnet&BlackAttack.

  • I hope his performance is good enough to at least consider it. I think he has first round talent.

He will be 3 years removed from High school after this year because he spent a year at prep school so he will be eligible after this year.

Hope he has a great year and stays at least one more.

  • I think he stays one more year minimum. As much as he improved last season, he is still a long way from being NFL caliber.

  • Needs to develop more physically IMO. Another year in school and with Coach Lawing/Connolly would do him good.

He loves USC, he wears non-school issued Gamecock shirts to class sometimes. He is one of those guys like Ingram, and DJ Swearinger who is really set on winning it all while here. I think he will be here at least through his junior year. He would not surprise me to stay all four.

He really seems to love USC, and he is a legacy guy as well. Plus, with his dad, I am sure he knows how tough the NFL can be. He just does not seem like he is in a hurry for his college days to be over. He just seems to be having a blast. This is all just my opinion though, from what I have observed and heard him say.

I would bet he is NFL Caliber now. He is quick enough to play DE in the NFL now and is plenty big enough for that position. With that said hope he stays at least 1 more. Kid is the best looking DT to come thru USC in some time.

  • He was our best DT last year so I assume he'd be drafted if he left after next year. If he wants to be drafted during the first two days he'll probably have to stay through his junior year.

    Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty

You are seriously undervaluing what Travian "Bull" Robertson meant to our DL. He caught so many double-teams that allowed guys like Ingram to do his thing facing only one man in front of him.

While Kelcy has more upside than Travian and will eventually be a better player, IMO, he was not our best DT last year.

I've seen you post this before. Exactly what are you basing it on?

    TR
    49 tackles, 8 tfl, 2.5 sacks, 4 qbh, 1 block kick
    KQ
    28 tackles, 2 tfl, 0 sacks, 4 qbh

Quarles is going to be a beast, but he was a frosh last season.

I think so too. We need to keep recruiting stud DL because there could be a lot of attrition after 2013: Clowney, Sutton, potentially Alfy Hill and Quarles

He was probably the most talented, so I see what you are saying. But, Travian was the best last year.

NO. But if he does he will NOT be a 1st round pick, likely 3rd at the very best, likely lower. He'll be able to help himself a lot by staying longer, now if he's 3rd team in the SEC in 2012 and 1st team in 2013 then he can leave and be a 1st rounder. KQ showed lots of promise in 2011, but he wasn't our best DT, the guy who went in the 7th round was our best DT.

BigAl went out of his way all of last year to bash Travian in game threads. It seems odd to post in game threads though. Wouldn't you be at the game, or at least intently watching it enough to not be posting constantly during it?

Watch the DVDs. TR was rarely double-teamed. The opposing OL didn't have to.

So you feel like you're a better judge of who should play than Lawing, E Johnson, and Whammy?
