USC offensive line coach and running game coordinator Shawn Elliott is a candidate for the offensive line coaching position at Alabama sources confirmed Thursday night. Elliott did not respond to a text message requesting confirmation on his part.
Alabama last week lost two year offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland to the Philadelphia Eagles. TideSports.com reported that Saban has interviewed Central Florida assistant head coach and line coach Brent Key and also confirmed Elliott for the position.
Elliott, according to a source in South Carolina, recently turned down an offer to interview for the offensive line job with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
