Kyle Nunn update

I was with Kyle when the Doctor told him it could take a few days for the epidural to relieve the swelling and inflamation in his disk. He was having problems feeling the inside of his right foot. If it was just pain, he would have played. In fact he tried to play and Coach Elliott would not let him becuase of the numbness in his right foot. I think that the Coach did the right thing. There is a 90-95% chance it will heal and not require surgery. We did not want anything posted about it before the game in case he did play, did not want people keying in on his back. If he played the Doctors said that he did not have a risk of being paralyzed or anything like that. So, the team gave him until 1pm Saturday to make a decision. When he left our tailgate spot at 11:30am Sat we still did not know what would happen. When I saw him dressed out, I thought maybe he would play. I hope that things work out for this weekend.

My brother is type 1 diabetic, one symptom is his back locks up from time to time. Last year was really bad, it happened 3 or 4 times. They give him an epidural when it happens and it usually loosens up within a couple days.

I'd let Kyle stay on the sidelines this weekend too. If we can't beat Kentucky with him getting another game to rest the back, then we're in more trouble than we realize. We're going to need him as close to 100% as possible for the second half of the season.

Did ya'll ntoice him putting on his helmet during the timeout in the 4th QTR. Thought he was going in till it looked like Elliot told him to take it off and he walked away from the players huddled around coach. Just being willing to try takes more guts than most on here will ever realize. I've never been a huge fan of Kyle, but that won me over right there.
