LeBron James- Best player in the NBA

  • Dirk > LeBron.

Rose hasn't played well all series, didn't take much to shut him down last night.

    Fomerly known as Garnet&BlackAttack.

    GarnetNBlack247

  • LeBron plays defense like few ever. Dirk doesn't play it at all. I don't know if LeBron is the best basketball player now or ever, but he is the best athlete I have ever seen in my life bar none. Second would be Wilt Chamberlin, then Jim Brown.

    Hodad

  • lebron is a worthless, self-centered, egotistical POS. The NBA is the worst pro league these days and guys like lebron aren't helping.

Never thought we'd miss MJ so much.

MJ was so long ago there are adults who never really saw him play.

This is the best the league has been in a long while. Old teams, emerging teams. Teams with flaws, strange matchups. And a bunch of contending squads that are going to be in the picture for awhile.

As far as possible drama, the league itself is in better shape than when it was all about mj.

We could be back to an era where there are multiple great teams slugging it out for a decade. Miami, Boston, ok city. And maybe the Knicks and the winner of Dwight Howard derby.

Not to mention the last gasps of Boston and lakers.

I don't think lbj is that compelling but he is a great player. I also think he made the right move. He was doomed in Cleveland because no one wants to live there. He did what countless stars have done: he left a losing situation for something better.

Very good points made in this post. I like the fact that 4 new teams are in the conference finals.

  • the NBA is as good as its been since the days of Magic, MJ and Bird. The new stars are fun to watch, Rose, Durant, Love Griffin, Paul, and Howard. Lebron, Wade, and Anthony are still under 30. Not to mention Kobe.

I think Lebron is better than Dirk and will eat his lunch in the finals. I also think the return of Miller and Haslem will provide Miami with the lift it needs to win the series. Give me the Heat in 6.

The Heat has no bench. If the mavs can successfully get Bosh, Le BoBo or wade in foul trouble, they can take them easily.

The Bulls have to make some moves in the off season. Boozer is a part time player and has to go. They need a more serious second scoring threat than Kyle Korver.

This is the playoffs, you only need a bench in the regular season.

  • People that are always clowning on the NBA obviously haven't watched it in a few years. It went through a downspell after MJ but it is better than ever. It's hard to beat the NBA playoffs, even my Hawks were fun to watch in the playoffs this year (as opposed to last year's debacle, yikes). I'm definitely pulling for the Mavs too.

You must not be watching the NBA right now. It has as much talent as it's ever had and it will be amazing to watch the next 10-15 years.

Let's just say they held a draft tomorrow with every player. Who do you think most GM's pick?

Its NO DOUBT the first overall would be Lebron. Dirk is a great offensive player. Last time I checked, all the great players were always on NBA first team defense as well.
Dirk could not guard a kitchen chair. He can not spell defense.
Lebron will guard Dirk in the finals and the Heat will win in five games.
    Lebron will be finals MVP!

People are jealous of Lebron. How many people wish they could go in and quit their job and shop themselves around.
Oh I forgot, thats what we do!! He improved himself and made himself a desired commodity. If you were on the top of your career field and you had several fortune 500 companies beating down your door to hire you at top dollar, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Would you stay at your original job and be overworked, or put yourself in the best position to succeed?
I think he made a wonderful business decision. CHEERS to Lebron. Tell all the haters to kiss your rings.

This is true...it sucked pretty bad for awhile after the GOAT that is MJ left, but it's definitely the best it's been in a long time...the young talent is off the hook right now & it deep too (Richard Pryor joke Mudbone/Little Feets)...

  • I'm not ready to fit the Heat with rings just yet. I think it's going to be a great series. I think the Thunder is a worse matchup for the Heat then the Mavs.

I wouldn't mind Jason Kidd and Dirk getting a ring.

  • I don't think I would have done "The Decision", but it's a little hypocritical to dog him for it given I follow recruiting so closely and I'm alright when the superstar does the show and picks us.

what rings??? & I don't think it's so much that he left Cleveland that people got so mad about, atleast not me anyway, it's the way he did it...an hour special on ESPN to take a dump in Cleveland's face, the team you just spent 7 years with, the way he did & not even talking to the front office about your plans or anything just keeping it all hush hush, it's something called respect & clearly there wasn't much of that to go around with that whole "The Decision" debacle...I don't fault the guy, he wants to win & he realized he wasn't good enough to do it in Cleveland, although I think he could have if he had a legit 2nd option...so he "takes his talent's to South Beach" to go help D-Wade add to his legacy...I think Cleveland could have & would have got him some help had he stayed

The front office never shows loyalty to the players. They certainly didn't show loyalty to Mike Brown.

You think Cleveland was going to get him help? What in that 7 years suggests that? What in Cleveland's history suggests it's a place free agents want to go to?

He honored his contract, plus 2 extensions. He tried to make it work. He gave more to that franchise then that franchise gave to him. He didn't demand a trade like Kobe or Carmelo. He honored the contract he signed.

Yea I'll be pulling for the Mavs barring a miraculous comeback by the Bulls. It will definitely be a good one, Dirk is playing like the MVP right now & appears to have gotten a little tougher. He's damn near unguardable, although the Heat will have some bodies to throw at him. The Mavs are just shooting the ball so good right now, something I wish the Bulls were doing, but they're not. Credit Miami for playing good defense, but anybody who's been watching can see that the Bulls are missing way too many wide open shots.

He was there 7 years and the best they put around him was Moe Williams. No one wants to play in Cleveland.

No one player can win an NBA title these days. The Lakers sucked when Kobe was there byh himself, it took the addition of Gasol to win a title.

okay, but if your leaving why not just tell somebody?? well I guess that would take away from the suspense of "The Decision"...they hired Byron Scott because he fit the criteria that LeBron wanted in the new coach...who says the only way to build a team is through free agency??? ever heard of building through the draft??? it works pretty well...they did make some effort to get him some help, that's why they brought in Antwan Jamison, although that move clearly didn't work out & wasn't a good one, it was still a effort...could the Cavs have done more??? certainly, but they didn't just around idley...every decision that front office made went through LeBron first, so it's not like they were just calling all the shots & he had no say so in what went on

  • Let's be real. The Decision and the whole Miami introduction party thing were two of the worst ideas EVER. But you can't hate the guy for doing it. He is a great teammate and clearly is not afraid of being hated. He did everything he could for Cleveland, but their management was just too stupid, and no one wants to live in Cleveland. Get ready for the Heat to win 8 straight.

Forget that. Its like having a whore girlfriend who says she is going stop sleeping around. Sometimes you have to take things into your own hands.
I was always told you could talk that talk, if you could back it up. Owners cut injured players everyday. They dash dreams on a daily basis.

Disagree. Dirk has been on a much higher level. Dallas will take LeCon down in 6 games.

Not sure the Mavs take Miami but I agree that Dirk is having the best post season. He basically is carrying his team whereas Lebron has help from two other stars in Bosh and Wade. In the Boston series, it was Wade who dominated and led the Heat to the 2nd Round. Lebron is playing well but Dirk is doing it with aging guys like Marion and Kidd. DIrk has raised his game and is carrying his team to the championship round.
