LeBron and Dwayne Wade

That city didn't make him. His hard work did.

You mean a team that had the #1 pick the year before and after Lebron didn't make him?

He essentially crapped on the city/region that made him who he is on national TV. Hard to see much admirable in that...

Lebron became a star because of him, not anything Cleveland ever did for him

Lebron got drafted to play in Cleveland, honored two contracts, and played for 7 years with almost zero help and brought them to their only NBA finals. He didn't have the luck Magic or Bird had in going to perennial winners like LA and Boston.

He was perfectly justified in going free agent and deciding to play in Miami over Cleveland.

He essentially made a "bad" PR move that ended up donating $1M to the children's charity where he made the announcement. He essentially exercises his right to work anywhere in America where he decided to go. He essentially signed a deal after his rookie contract expired, stayed in Cleveland and gave Cleveland the best basketball years they have ever had while taking a team of average players to the NBA Finals.

How much $ have you given or raised to be givento children's charities? How many children's charities have you even visited?

This whole dislike over a TV show he did 2 years ago is so pathetic and childish. Unbelievable. Grown men. Sheesh.

  • Oh yeah cleveland gave up millions of dollars and 7 first round picks to get him, or were they just first in the draft and took the best player? Hes a phenomenal talent and the most athletic human being....ever. And hes from Akron....

I have no problem with him leaving Cleveland. I do have a problem with HOW he left Cleveland. He could have simply notified the Cavs that he was going to Miami and then had his presser in Miami. To go on national TV and inform his employer and the fans that supported him that he was leaving in the fashion he did was beyond classless.

  • If you think Lebron is a bad guy or dislike him because of the Decision, you do not qualify to be a man, period.

Thanks for your analysis of what I'm qualified to do and who I'm qualified to like. I appreciate your unique and unprecedented insight. Having said that, my dislike for him is based on other factors as well, which you would have known had you taken the time to read my previous posts. But, don't let facts get in the way of your soap box...Feel free to continue to slurp at the feet of the "king." I'll continue to root against him...

What is your opinion of Jadeveon Clowney holding an announcement decision on live TV a week after everyone else signed? Was what Lebron did really that much worse?

I will agree it was a dumb PR move, but why can't we just leave it at that? I don't see how that warrants a hatred for all things Lebron.

To me it is less egregious than Kobe raping a girl or MJ's notorious gambling and womanizing.

Well, to be fair, I never liked Kobe or MJ either. As for Clowney, he wasn't leaving an employer and fan base that overwhelmingly supported him behind. Still, my dislike for LeBron goes beyond "The Decision."

    blessedcock

  • You haters have a vendetta against him for your own reasons that won't be changed, why not embrace the incredible spectacle that he is...And his employer was not behind him. He was given Delonte West, Iglauskus, Antawn Jameson, one legged Shaq...How was he supported by his employers? That is an awful point, name one good player they put around him

The owner and city didn't support where it matters, and that's talent acquisition. The city couldn't really help it because Cleveland isn't and won't be desirable free agent destination.

They both did what they could given the paramaters within which they had to work. Did it result in a star to go along side of LeBron? No. Still, they deserved better than they received from LeBron in the end.

You can't deny that here is an incredible amount of hate for these two. I hate a lot of people too, but people revel in bashing Lebron for no real reason.

The worst thing he ever did was have a TV special that raised millions for charity. He has never been arrested, he gives lots of time and money to charity, and he was willing to check his ego at the door and leave demi-god status in Cleveland in order to be part of a team with his friends and to win in Miami. I fail to see how that that makes him such a bad guy, especially compared to MJ and Kobe who IMO are much more flawed people

There was also the comment he made when asked about fans giving him a hard time at a visitors court, or something, he said something to the effect of: "when the games over, they will go back to their boring lives, and I will continue being me."

That didn't go over too well, either.

He's not a "bad person", as he has never gotten arrested, or beat up a woman, and that is a good thing. Dwayne Wade appears a little self-rightous and arrogant, and has not helped LeBron's image with a lot of the fans. They did that little thing where they mocked Dirk for being sick, and there was no fallback from that. However, when someone fouled Wade a little harder than he deemed appropriate, and someone talks a little smack to LeBron from the bench, they send some goons to try to hurt them. That didn't help their image either.

Maybe the fans but not a franchise. Players get cut and traded based on what the front office wants to do. He did what he could do given the parameters. Honored his contract, plus a year. Didn't force a trade. He gave them 7 to make it happen.

You're the most self righteous person on this board. I havn't heard a fact or any relevant evidence come out of your mouth. "They deserved better"...yeah man then they burned his jersey...true fans, better people...but not as good as you of course.

It is called protecting your players. If you condemn Lebron and Wade for what Haslem did, I'd hate to hear your opinion of Bird, Kobe, Jordan and Magic and their teammates.

Same ole, same ole. How tired can this "crap" get. I can't believe how feakin stupid some people are. My grandmother told me one time that "you can't argue with ignorant people. They are ignorant, they don't know any better". There is no way to win with this kind of thinking or rationale. It frankly makes me want to throw up.

Lebron played out his rookie deal and re-upped, giving Cleveland 7 years, the best run they have ever had and also giving the organization more than enough time to prove it would invest in the supporting cast necessary to win a title, which it did not. How was Cleveland screwed here?

Again, how much $ and/or time have you given to children's charities?

The end game is this entire line of "Lebron screwed Cleveland" reasoning is stupid and baseless. Lebron gave 7 years to a team that did not give him the necessary supporting cast to win a title. Lebron got screwed out of 7 years of his career playing for the Cavs and their childish owner.
