Let's talk Vanderbilt

Ok...so is anyone nervous about this game like I am? Maybe it's just because I get nervous for every first game regardless of the team. Anyone know what Vandy will have this year? From what I've read they'll be thin on the O-line which will give us some opportunities to make some big plays in the trenches. On defense I hear they are thin at LB position. Besdies that they showed last year they are ready to compete and make a statement. I pray this isn't 2008 all over again. I think we've built our program up to not lose these games and they are trying to build their's now. I just hate the fact they have all summer to create some schemes to confuse our DL which I believe will overmatch them any other given day. Of course they don't have Lattimore which has never played there (hurt in 2010) and I expect him to make a big difference in that game. Don't be surprised though at a 24-20 type game. Anyone have comments or thoughts about it?

If we come out and play worth a damn we will win the game. Vandy is not bad, but let's remember this is a team that had trouble crossing the 50 on us last year. If we don't make mistakes and turn the ball over we should win by 2 scores. It is hard to kick the old Gamecock mentality when we assumed the worst and hoped for the best. Reality is that we are just a good damn team who will win a bunch of games over the next few years.

They seemed to be playing much better toward the end of the season once they switched QB's and he got comfortable. The lost their best DB to the draft didn't they? Not sure who else they may have lost.

ZILCH. We have a very good talented proven team with great leadership...let's start thinking like it. No disrespect to Vandy as I think they have a decent squad but they can't match up with us for 4 quarters.

We will be better on offense with Connor Shaw being a threat to run and pass...they wont be able to stack the box on Lattimore like last year because we will have a QB with a pulse. Their offense will be okay, but I see no reason we shouldnt win by 3 TDs. They had a lot of hype with Cutler coming back in 2004 and we smashed them...who knows though.

They'll be fiesty, though, gritty, and playing with heart. We will too. Only difference is our team is far superior to their's, talent-wise. We'll get ahead of them, and then they'll try to throw the ball to get some quick points, and our pass rush will destroy Jordan Rodgers. Not scared at all.
