Senior Adam Yates had an inauspicious 2009 as the kickoff specialist but has lost weight and gained confidence as the team's top placekicker in 2012.

Well, Yates has obviously made an enormous improvement. Huge.
In '09 he had a weak leg and was very inaccurate.
Glad to hear he's kicking well. I was really hoping St Germaine would be the guy coming into camp.
Glad he lost some weight. Prior to Succop and Lanning, we had some over weight kickers and punters. Their unis looked like shrink wrap, not a good look for a kicker.
What got him benched in that Spiller game was not kicking to the planned kickoff coverage.
