I don't know about that, especially in the NFL. All of the better teams realize they need at least a capable back-up who can fill in for a few games, because you can't have the success/failure of a season hinge on one guy. Actually finding and having that capable back-up is another matter.
expectations are on the rise for this team. While he had limited game experience, I felt a lot more confident with Shaw as a back-up last year than I do with this year's back-ups. I truly hope someone rises to the occasion and/or it never come to that, but there is a lot of "unproven" behind him. Reading this article (and some of the comments) is making me feel a little better.

Hutson mason at uga is completely unproven.
Both driskell and
UK has Morgan Newton which I guess is a plus behind the young starter.
No idea about Vandy or Missouri.
Tennessee has Worley who is not good.
I guess LSU might now be Bolden?
