My Dad passed away today...

My heart is breaking as I write this but there are so many of you out there that I know and love and I wanted to let you know. Dr. John William Schofield, my wonderful father and USC Alum passed away this afternoon at the age of 91. I was by his side as he took his last breath this afternoon and I will never ever forget this wonderful man who was such a comfort and friend to thousands of patients over his 30 year career as an Internist in Florence, SC. I just finished writing his obituary and I think he would be proud.

I went through this the day after christmas which is also the day before my birthday. on the eve of me turning 18 my dad passed away. I'm now 21 and I can say that my prayers are with you because I know all too well what you are going through.

Your Dad treated 3 generations of my family, including myself. I can remember as a little boy sitting in his waiting room with my grandparents. I can still hear his deep baritone voice as I write this. So sorry to hear about his passing.
