NFL Draft Thursday

  • Should be interesting to see it play out as some are predicting Gilmore could find himself in the top 10. Its comical the way these kids are analyzed, while Stephon has really benefited from it, Melvin now has "short arms" that are a concern (still top 15 or so), and everyone wanted Alshon to lose weight and show speed but when he did they started to doubt him being able to play at that weight. Its ridiculous to me how much stock is put into the things these guys do up against a tape measure and stop watch without pads on as opposed to what they do on the field in an actual game.

However it goes, Gamecocks are looking to have a banner year, with 4 guys projected to be off the board after 3 rounds and hopefully Travian wont be far behind.

  • Alshon will play with a chip on his shoulder next year

  • Well for the last two weeks gm's have been playing the misdirection game with the media and agents. Who knows where the guys are picked. Gilmore has benefited with potential competition as 2nd cb off the board has taken hits. The draft is like buying a house, it's a big investment, it'll be apart of your future and you have to do your homework to make sure you're not going to end up regretting it. However, some teams fall in love with certain guys and will reach. To be honest I'd be surprised to see Gilmore picked in top 10 with where tannehill is drafted will shake up the top half of the round. I have a feeling that someone will get a steal in Jeffrey in the second round, hopefully goes to a team with an established qb, worst case Cleveland, Miami or Minnesota...

  • I would like to see Alshon get to play with Peyton that would be a dangerous duo.
