garnet stats, you would be 100% correct if we were talking about a normal fan base. but clemson fans live in a cocoon. a cocoon which has been spun around them with the most outrageous, exaggerated, and pompous propaganda, i have ever heard. they constantly hear throughout their circles, (and that is all that they hear) that they are great. their teams are dominate. their recruits are the fastest, strongest, and have the best character of all recruits in the universe. clemson is the most special place on the planet, and only the most special people go there. thus, not only their sports teams, but they themselves are a cut above you, me, and the rest of us. when you act with class towards them, like you should with normal people, they take it two ways. 1. as a sign of weakness, and 2, as affirmation that their perceived superiority is true. (thus our silence, because deep down, gamecocks really know clemson is superior.). has anyone heard the ards, philpots, the plyers, the williams, of the clemson propaganda team give any credit where credit is due? or do you only hear them complain about how they should have won? do you know of a single gamecock information site that has a single person who covers gamecock sports like the ones i mentioned? have you ever heard of a coach describe a rival, like dabo did usc? ever in history? did you see larry williams tweets before the football game calling columbia, and our stadium a dump? i myself don't rub it into my clemson friends. but that is just my personality. however, i don't begrudge anyone who does. clemson fans deserve it like no other. all of this is jmho.
