Kwinton Smith was selected in the 14th round of the MLB Draft, but what kind of impact will that have on his South Carolina football career?

When I asked my other question in another post about filling voids left by the MLB draft I was not considering walk on guys especially ones with the talents of these three. I hope these guys put forth an effort worthy of being on our baseball team and I think they can. As I recall, Ahmad Christian was the last player cut from the baseball team and Tanner really liked him.

I'm assuming since he has already enrolled, so his 5 year window started, correct? Meaning he wouldn't have the chance to come back if it didn't work out.

I think he has been told that his eligibility clock doesn't actually start until the fall semester. So he could leave school and go try baseball and retain his football eligibility.
At least that is what he has been told.
Actually your so called clock doesn't start until you become a full time student according to the NCAA.

Thanks for update.
You know you've got some pretty good talent on your baseball team when a 14th-round draft pick may be a walk-on.
Getting some really athletic recruits. Good for Smith. I didnt even know he was draft worthy. I am impressed.
