What is the best out there? I used to have a good one. But got a new pc and can't for the life of me remember. Thanks!

I use Malwarebytes (must have) and Microsoft security essentials. I'm not so sure about MSE yet though.

avg is good as you can get for free and for a windows based comp.... if mac, then no avg.

OP, make sure you use Microsoft Security Essentials. That's definitely the one you want. It's better than any of the Norton/McAfee/TrendMicro products. It will cover all your needs and Microsoft keeps it constantly updated.

I've used AVG on multiple computers for years without a single hiccup. I've also used ZoneAlarm firewall with great results.
I should mention I've used Firefox too, so I have no idea how well the above products work with IE.

I used to use AVG but the latest update made my computer run super slow...also once it's installed on your computer they make it close to impossible to uninstall. I've had microsoft security essentials for a while now and have had no problems with it.
