    Cockengr, since you're an engineer just like I am, I know what courses you took in school, and I know you took multiple physics, so please don't answer this one...

    What does the E, m, and c stand for in E=mc^2? And I'm not talking about numeric representation.

    Energy, mass, speed of light squared

    E is for energy
    m is for mass
    c stands for idk? Constant? lol

    The company made $4 million in the second quarter. this is 1/3 more than it made in the first quarter and 4/5 of what it made in the third quarter. How much did the company make in that three quarters combined?

    A 8.8 million B 11.2 million C 12 million D 12.5 million E 14 million

    2nd quarter = 4M
    1st quarter = 4M * 3/4 = 3M
    3rd quarter = 4M / (4/5) = 5M

    all 3 = 12M.

    I also don't have time to teach you how to speak hobo.

    I believe that to be correct. This is why I wasn't good at math. I rely on my common sense, and there isn't much there.

    Oh, it's right.

    it makes sense if you think it through verbally.

    in the second quarter, you made 4M, which is 1 1/3 of the amount you made in the previous quarter. 4M / (1 1/3) is the same as 4M / (4/3) is the same as 4M * 3/4.

    In the second quarter, you made 4M, which is 4/5 of the amount you made in the following quarter. To get 5/5 from 4/5, you divide by 4 and multiply by 5. 4M / 4 = 1M. 1M * 5 = 5M.

    I also don't have time to teach you how to speak hobo.

  • A rabbit sticks his head out of the end of a hollow log. He turns and runs to the other end of the log and sticks his head out in 10 seconds. He turns around and runs to the first end of the log in 5 seconds. He again turns and runs back down the inside of the log in 2.5 seconds. If the rabbit continues at this rate how long will it be before he has his head out of both ends of the log at the same time?

    x + 2x + 3x = 66

    6x = 66

    x = 11 (first worker)

    second worker = 22

    third worker = 33

    adds up to 66 right? so 22 is the answer.

    Don't know if this one has been corrected, but it should be 3x + x + 1.5x= 66.

    The most productive worker is 3 times as productive as the least, so they are 3x and x. The middle worker is half as productive as the most productive, so he is 1.5x.

    66/5.5x = 12

    So the production should be 12, 18, and 36.
