If you rid the world of stairwells, people will stop falling down them.

An equally true and ridiculous statement.

But stairwells arent used to kill people. Guns sole purpose is to kill people, or animals. Or at the very least to inflict harm.

Before we get rid of guns we need to get rid of pitbulls. A violent, useless breed IMO. We might need guns for this FWIW.

I've thought this for awhile now. In the modern world, where most of these crimes are caught on video, why do we have a trial?? Take the Atlanta courthouse shooter...he was on video and there were about 150 witnesses...shouldn't there be a "drive through" lane where its so freaking obvious we don't have to waste taxpayer money?!?

If people really want to hurt people they will always find a way to do it. I read they found explosives at that guys house. They are illegal. Can you imagine a bomb going off in a crowded theater?

-so tragic. Prayers to all those affected.
-unless you find a way to ban mentally deranged whack jobs then such tragedies will happen from time to time. Only the vapid and reactionary think that banning the tool used to inflict violence will keep a kook like this from carrying out his evil.
-what is it about the Sci-Fi/ comic book genre that makes people feel a need to dress up in character to attend a movie? The Rocky Horror crowd I get. Most were drunk or stoned to begin with. But these Star Wars/Star Trek/Lord of the Rings/Batman types are friggin weird. How does dressing up like Darth Vader enhance the movie going experience? Is it a conduit for nerd mating?
I like movies too. But if I'm going to see Remeber the Titans I don't feel the need to wear a helmet and thigh pads. I bring this up because every news story I saw last night prior to this awful incident showed legions of seemingly grown men dressed up like Batman.

Please propose to me how you plan to close Pandora's box here? Do we as American legislate that everyone in the world stop making guns? How do you collect the hundreds of millions of guns that are already out there as well as the ammunition that they fire? How do you stop people from making their own guns? Your argument is based upon a theory of a perfect world and simply put, that will never exist. Criminals will ALWAYS have access to guns because they have no fear for the law. Taking them out of the hands of law abiding citizens simply is not the answer.

Alcohol kills more people in the us than guns. Should we ban that as well?
