Here's the problem. My mom loves Carolina, she loves keeping up with the Gamecocks and seeing all the articles about upcoming opponents and about the different players. My mom does not do the internet. She does watch tv but a two minute segment really doesn't give her the facts she needs. My mom reads The State - but she does not like Ron Morris's articles.
People like my mom who have been fans for years still read the paper and I can't fault her for not wanting to make that change to learn something new - she's 77. What so many people have tried to make as an easy decision are not thinking of people like my mom - I am.
I have expressed my opinion to the State and have now indicated I am going to temporarily suspend our newspaper ads until there is resolution to this matter. We strive to satisfy our Gamecock fan base in product, price and service and feel that this action would best serve all at this time.
I believe there may be some clarification from Coach Spurrier in the upcoming weeks and hopefully people will listen to what he has to say and will understand that this is not our fight. We are just a business that supports the Gamecocks and until last Friday, we were well respected in the community for our products and services and to the values we try to operate by daily.
Advertising is the driving force with which we communicate to our Gamecock family. It is unfortunate that there has been so much negative publicity concerning this particular form of advertising.
I appreciate all your business and look forward to getting this behind us.

Radio and TV along with billboards which you have and do use. Also, this site and other Gamecock sites...
Do you have any idea how much business Lowes and Home Depot get from email flyers ??? I have yet to receive one from you...
