If having to stay outside of Omaha in a nearby town, where would you recommend staying?

Stayed in council bluffs last year near the Horeshoe casino. Easy drive downtown and many fans and players hang out at the casino.

I have been 5 times to Omaha to watch the Cocks. Omaha is Gamecock crazy. You won't go anywhere that the locals won't be happy to see you. I am a veteran so I stay at Offutt Air Force Base, but C. Bluffs is a great place. Lots of good golf courses. Shore Line, not 5 min from the stadium, is a really good course. Be sure to go to a Omaha Steak House. Go Cocks!

with the new stadium downtown I would try to stay downtown... plenty of hotels in walking distance and they have a nice downtown area. I'm sure the hotels are more $$ there but maybe not a lot more... 2010 the last year at the Blatt, I stayed downtown at the Doubletree for about $130... it was the UCLA hotel., I'm sure with the games at Ameritrade stadium now the prices got jacked up but you should check.

Stayed in council bluffs two years ago. It was fine. Stayed at the Hampton inn right across from the stadium last year. 200 a night. Saw stadium out of our window. Very nice and easy to go get in line for tickets that they sell each day. Piccolo Pete's is a great steak place.

I stayed at that Hampton inn too...it was great we walked everywhere. The Drover was great too...

Y'all are getting me excited....never been to Omaha, but going if we make it this year. The Council Bluffs sounds great and I'll probably check out a show or two at that Iowa Playhouse. Always trying to get a little culture and that particular "Performing Arts" Theatre sounds like it will fit the bill.

I stay at the Hampton Inn in Council Bluffs.
Connected to casino if you want to go.
Pretty nice hotel with a decent breakfast in the morning. If you are out there for two weeks you try to save all you can so I have to fill up on breakfast. Those free meals the Athletic department gives you before our games helps also.
They also have 24 hour 7 day a week shuttle service that will take you to the game, downtown Omaha, or anywhere in that area you want to go. The Drover is a little far out for the shuttle but you can either rent a car or just catch a cab if you want to go there.
