I had the advantage of seeing Sheldon develop from a youngster, so I knew he would very likely be special. My all-time favorite Gamecock for his humbleness, and ability to always make the play when we needed it. Tough as nails whenever challenged, and owner of one of the most hellacious hits I've ever seen in the NFL.
I'd have to say the calls for Abraham and Norwood would be my top picks. No one expected them to accomplish what they did as I recall. Game changers for sure.

Devin Taylor. Skinny kid with lots of athleticism out of high school. Biggest competition for his signature was Wake Forest.
Also Ko Simpson and Kenny Mckinley.

He was the "spotlight" recruit in his class (per one of my preseason mags that year). I know I had high hopes for him.

Captain considering his size and weight on what he has acomplished in his carrer up to this point. You could make an argument for Travelle Wharton actually. The man was working in the Bi-LO warehouse in Mauldin for a year out of Hillcrest before Lou got him into USC. Virtually forgotten. DiMarco & Rob DeBoer as well.

What about Rod Wilson?
He was pretty dang good, was he rated high? And what about that #11 safety, I cannot remember his name, he played for Lou Holtz. Was a shorter, stocky guy that was a pretty big hitter.
Willie Offord was one of my fav's. Was he rated highly?
