Does anyone know what position he played in HS? DIdn't he lead 4A ball in interceptions one year?

Its not just him. I always get involved in the story of good walkons every year. It has nothing to do with him being white like someone suggested. I would get fired up every time I saw Markett in the game, and Markett's abilities improve exponentially each day in my head.

You have to admit hearing someone say just playing a few plays on special teams is worth more than money makes you root for the kid.

That is a good question. I don't know what his 40 time is or anything. But, he is fast enough to cover Byrd. After that first deep ball they hit him on, Shaw was on him pretty much the rest of the day, and was on him like glue.

I am not saying he is as fast as Byrd, I am dumb, but not that dumb, but: When he got his first pick six in practice, it was right in front of Byrd. Granted, Shaw's momentum was going forward, and Byrd had to change directions, but Shaw took it to the house with Byrd about 4 or 5 yards behind him for 40 yards, and didn't really make up any ground.

Dude is not slow by any stretch of the imagination. He has good hips and athleticism too. He is plenty fast to do the job that is assigned to him, exactly how fast that is, I do not know. I have heard in the 4.5 range.

Hampton did not hardly play, but, to me, and I think even ray charles could have seen that Shaw was the best corner in the spring game. Ahmad Christian looked good, but not as good as Shaw. Shaw had a pick and a pass breakup. His pick resulted from tight coverage, and fighting for the ball, too. If you rewatch the game, his man did not catch a pass. And, he covered Byrd much of the time.
