When I was younger, I had a bumper sticker that said, "If I owned Hell & Clemson, I would rent out Clemson and live in Hell"
Venue is great, dinning choices great, Parade is unmatched by any bowl except rose bowl. I like Orlando better for the hotel selections. 5* choices everywhere and the giant water park type pools in Orlando makes it nice for a family.amusment parks ar better in Orlando. Guess it depends on your prospective or stage in life (kids or no kids)
One negative (very big) apparently the city of Tampa handed out Florencent green safety vest for all the homeless so it could make theme easier to spot. Not sure if this an effort to keep them safe or an effort to the citizens to know they are homeless. Saying that I haven't seen that many homeless anywhere with the exception of Washington DC. That was real strange and at times we felt unsafe especially after the game my son wanted to go to ybor to ride the trolly. We got hit up for money 8 times by the yellow vest while in ybor city for a hour. Went to Busch gardens and they standing in the medians saling "homeless voice" papers and all over the city they stand in the median at the traffic lights kindof like the Shriners and lions clubs do while saling pecan logs. This to to be annoying. We got hit up by some while waiting at Pf Changs on Sunday night again last night at the Cheesecake Factory.
This makes us feel uneasy when I have 2 small kids with me. Tampa should, do something about them out in the medians at the very least but they need to crack down on it like NYC did.

Totally agree with all of the posts on here. Tampa did a hell of a job putting on the Outback Bowl. We also had a GREAT time at the New Year's Eve celebration at Channelside which was also first class. Also a great game and the Michigan fans were great for the most part (much better than the from Ohio State were when we played them).

Agreed, really enjoyed Tampa. The Cap 1 Bowl stadium was an absolute dump and the surrounding area wasn't much better. Raymond James was a nice facility and the area around it was nice as well. The city of Tampa is beautiful. Really enjoyed the Michigan fans, much more so than Nebraska's.
So, are we back in the "good graces" of the Outback Bowl committee again? I hope so.
Are you sure that the homeless people and especially the ones with mental problems were not tater fans that decided to travel down to Tampa to cheer against the Gamecocks of The USC?
Ive been all 4 times and the very first one was the most fun to me all the way around. Ybor seem to be better back then also. They need to fix that area because it could be excellent. in 08 went to chanelside but wasn't very impressed.
The one that I remembered about the Outback is the security are a bit rude and obnoxious about leaving. Also no ceremony after for the trophy. that was a bit slack. Other than that they do a lot better than the Cap one on facility, parade.
It was amazing being back in Florida. Waited to get tickets till there. I learned from the best. Didn't find anything at a deal with seating chart in hand. Ticket booth was open so just bought tickets to get in. Found 50yard line seats empty and was amazed at the view! Never expected to be able to see what I did. Long drive home but it was a happy one with our victory.
A month ago, there were a number of statements on this board about not wanting the Outback Bowl because of the debacle there four years ago.
Amazing, isn't it, how much better a bowl it was this time, now that our team showed up to play?
