  • Bump thread to share with everyone that couldn't make it to the service for Silver Spur today, that the service was very touching and a great tribute to a great person, husband, father, and Gamecock brother to me and many posters over the years. I was humbled to be contacted to be a pallbearer, and am still trying to make sense of this sudden loss of such a great human being. It's not for me to understand, which becomes clearer the older I get.

Whether you knew him personally, or just on the boards, please pray for strength for his family as they struggle to cope with this loss. I know as new posters, posters who don't read this, etc. join as time passes, this request will be lost in a sea of threads, but for those that do read this, please make a conscious effort to live and love life and time with your loved ones to the fullest. Don't get personal with other posters you may not agree with on certain topics. You can agree to disagree in a cordial way without tearing someone down, because in the end, losses like this remind us players and results of sporting events don't matter as much in life as being known and remembered as someone who dared to be humble and respectful to others.

Thank you all, and know Heaven just gained another great soul and Gamecock.
