  • They just look better right now b/c the competition and a greater diversity of weapons I.e not just 1 super-starv WR.

Dare I say Boyd is a better QB right now than Garcia. Sorry guys, but his passes were good, accurate and on time. Can't say the same for Garcia. And hate to say this too, but Watkins is a beast. Once AJ is gone, they will have the best WR of the 2 schools. As of today at least. And I do think Clemson can and will beat FSU next week. FSU I believe is overrated, especially if Manuel can't play.

The next Clemson player that is better than a Gamecock will be the first. Taters are not better. Ever.

I honestly can't believe why you would come on here and even make that comparison. Did he look better than I thought he'd be...yes. Saying he is better than a 5 year starter who beat #1 Bama last year.

Let me put my corndog in your arse.

But clearly Bama was a fraud last year. No way were they the number one team. They lost 3 games...

Defenses boyd has faced are ranked 109 - troy, 117 - auburn, and 85 in the fcs in wofford.
Also has played at home not saying he is not good but his body of work hasn't been against anybody worth a crap.
Fsu defense is ranked 5th. He and clemsons defense produce this weekend then let's talk

Doesn't Clemson's offensive output against those 3 teams put a big black mark on their statistics, especially since it's only 3 games?

If Clemson hadn't put up 470 yards or more against these teams then their stat rankings would be much better, no?

Bama was not nearly as big of a fraud as the defending champs this year. Auburn is just awful.

He will be a better NFL QB than Kyle Parker. Boyd could've started yesterday.

Haha. Nice try, Noscreenename. Your coach disagreed with you last year about Parker. And.... You do realize AU had a bad defense and Wofford almost beat y'all, and y'all booed dabo and the team during the Troy game, right? One other thing, Consider yourself 'ignored' there, little fella.

  • I will say that there are several qb's playing better than Garcia right now. Does garcia have the potential to get back to where he was? Yes. Boyd looked pretty good Sat. Does he have talent around him that makes him look good? Yes. Does garcia have talent to make him look good? Yes. Garcia has 2 all americans in his offense right now and he still looks average. Thats just the facts.

Bama was the defending natty champs & #1 team in the country before we beat them & was pretty much everybody's consensus pick to win the MNC. They had pretty much their whole nucleus intact from their championship the previous year, their Heisman winner & all. That's a lot different from an Auburn team that is not even close to a shell of themselves from their championship run. They lost Newton, Fairly, & 16 starters, give me a break.

I'm aware that Alabama was number 1, exactly why I said you can claim they were a fraud because they lost 3 games. Also, they had 2 returning starters on defense last year which is hardly a nucleus. A total of 10 overall which is a very small number to bestow upon the number 1 team.

Honest question, and I expect an honest answer.

Do you believe that Auburn this year is as good as Bama last year?

Honest answer, no I don't. But that was not my point. My point is all I've seen or read is that Clemson should not be ranked, nor be excited about beating a fraud. I'm just making a comparitive point that nor should South Carolina fans continue to refer to Alabama being the top ranked team. Either Alabama was the best team in the country and Auburn was the 21st team in the country OR, they are both frauds and neither wins appear to be as significant as once thought.

While the scope of the wins are different in terms of the rankings at game time, you still can not down play one and pump the other when in Hindsight (a word I used in a
previous post) Alabama was clearly a fraudulent number 1, losing 3 games.

A number one team loses 0-1 games in a year. Alabama lost 3, three times as many as a number 1 should lose. A number 21 team loses 3 games in a year, sometimes 4. Auburn is expected to lose at least 5 or 6, double the typical loss total for a 21st ranked team. So, it looks like both teams were or are expected to be equally 'fraudulent'.

My only point is you see comments like: not a good win, auburn is terrible, they aren't number 21, they are a fraud.

So, South Carolina should be happy
about beating a good Alabama team last year, but not as ground breaking as it's made out to be since they were clearly not supposed to be ranked there.

your right about the defense, but they did have their Heisman horse that they rode in Ingram, Richardson, the starting QB, Julio, & Marcell Dareus, just to name a few, so maybe they didn't have their whole nucleus, but there was enough on that team for you to think that they still had a legitimate shot at repeating...sure they were not the same & were a fraud as #1, which was proven out with their final record, but there were much more legitimate reasons to have them #1 than there were for Auburn to be in the top 25 IMO....basically everybody with a brain knew Auburn was gonna suck this year....it's not as black & white as your making it out to be
