You can in NO way compare what he did last night against an ACC def/freshman corner in a completely different offensive system to what he could "possibly" be doing here. Lets look at this a different way. If Davis had come to USC:
-He would go to a bowl. -He would have 1/2 the losses he has now. -He wouldn't have losses to Duke, Wake, and Louisville. -He would have played in front of twice as many people. -He would have been on CBS twice, ESPN 4 times, and ESPN 2 once as opposed to 3 ESPNU games and 3 ACC network. -He would be playing for a good football team.

Davis is the second or third best receiver on the field for UNC. Reps, for better or for worse help move young players along rapidly. It is proven fact that the more reps you get the better you become. Read Outliers if you want more.
Davis, good player. You have to want it. He didn't want it at Carolina. Plain and simple. I don't know why we are lamenting a player that has nearly played an entire season for another team. If we are going to do it for a player of his level (keep in mind I don't know what that is yet) then we should do it for all of them. Here I'll start so you can see how ridiculous this is.
