RJ Slawson too

  • SIAP....According to Carey Rich...RJ Slawson is considering transferring now too.

    KAHWood

  • I can understand that one. Don't understand the other two.

  • Regardless of what happens, I am glad we have FM at USC! I am sure there are a lot of factors that I am unaware of but at the end of the day, who wants to be a Gamecock? Who wants to be a freaking fighting Gamecock? Get on the court and fight until death! I believe FM will bring that heart/intensity and I am honored he is our coach.

OK, I feel better. Have a great day!

  • Slawson is one of the best athletes, and potentially the best defender on the team. This is all of our big men except one talking about leaving. I really like RJ, and this will sting.

Doubt it, but I really hope so

The real USC is the one that didn't finish in the top 25. The real Carolina is Academic Fraud U. South Carolina back to back Top 10. Got it.

  • These players need to get into the program or get the fock out of town. Let them leave to only a program we play so we can beat the sh*t our of their team.

If Ellington plays football, and Gill, Harris, and Slawson transfer, I'm not sure we can beat Irmo High School.

  • Well one thing's for sure. Frank will be able to sell the heck out of immediate playing time. I'd like Gill and Harris to stay, but they will just keep us from being really bad. It might speed up the rebuilding process if they leave and let Frank bring in a big '13 class. We'll have to be patient if so. He wasn't left the players that Horn inherited from Odom.

  • Can't help but think Martin's lack of interest in retaining Boynton or that his 9 day lack of individual returning player visit sessions was a detriment to player relations. I mean, really....it's like they were his last concern.

I think, I think.....if they transfer they they will not be in town.

  • Any chance these guys are scared of Martin...ala Bob Knight.

  • We were the worst team I have seen in a while last year. Yes, there is potential there but if anybody that's thinking of leaving doesn't fully embrace the challenge to get things turned around than it's not like they are irreplaceable. This may end up being a blessing in disguise. New blood without the negative outlook from last year may be better. Whatever the case, I fully trust Martin to get things done.

If all these guys leave, the only program that would fit that bill would be maybe Elon. by the time those guys graduate.

I bet you would have no problem if KSU's PG transferred here though, would you?

  • I remember when Frank MaGuire came to USC. His 1st team had no where near the talent he needed. We took out lumps that 1st yr. We got progressively better each year until we left the ACC. That ended what they used to call the "Underground Railroad" of NYC top flight talent. We still got an occassional good one (Jackie Gilloon, Jim Graziano are two that come to mind) but the days of John Roche, Tom Owens, Tom Riker, Kevin Joyce, Brian Winters, Bob Carver, etc. etc.) were over.

I fully expect us to be a very competitive team this coming season. If we can get a scorer or two from current squad members or newcomers, we could surprise a lot of folks. The foundation gets built this yr. & next. Then we start climbing the ladder.

    WNCCock151101

  • The only place he needs to transfer to, is the weight room.

... and if he had kept assistants... i am certain that the lack of interest in cleaning house resulted in those defections... and who does he think he is staying in NO for aau & coaches meetings...complete lack of interest!

I remember all those players very well and you did a good job of spelling their names. But I'm surprised you missed McGuire, which is the most important name in your post.
