RJ Slawson too

Slawson is one of the best athletes, and potentially the best defender on the team. This is all of our big men except one talking about leaving. I really like RJ, and this will sting.

You think Slawson may be a better defender than Harris? Really?

  • I've always heard the best way to win games and build programs is by losing your best players. Good point.

The only place he needs to transfer to, is the weight room.

Can't help but think Martin's lack of interest in retaining Boynton or that his 9 day lack of individual returning player visit sessions was a detriment to player relations. I mean, really....it's like they were his last concern.

Did you actually type "I mean, really..." in a post on a message board?

I think Martin probably knows what he's doing although he would likely be crushed that you don't approve.

  • Really sounds like a bunch of players that are use to telling their former coaches what they are going to do or not ...........

Sometimes a kid might have some talent but developes a loser attitude and isn't willing to do the hard work to break the losing pattern. When Spurrier came into Cola he ran off 14 players that were not willing to change their sorry ways of going to class and working out. He took a beating for it in the media and by a good many "fans". Not a single one of those players ever did anything at smaller colleges if they even made it that far. The one kid from Irmo that played Qb ended up causing some problems at PC.

I realize that it is hard for some to understand that not everyone fits into the winners mind set. Losing as badly as this team did over the last two years had just as much to do with the players as it did the coaching......sorry coaches don't play the game, they don't rebound, they don't shoot 32 foot jumpers either.

Many thought Holtz left Spurrier a lot of talent to but look at this past seasons team and tell me - did Holtz really leave Spurrier a lot of talent? So just because some fans that in most cases have never played the game above high school if at all, feel we have a few "good" basketball players doesn't neccessarily mean they are that good......just saying

If they don't want to be here then better to do what Folger did and play with 6 or 7 scholarship players than to have players with bad attitudes killing your future....I don't care about next yr I care about he future

The current players haven't even had a practice with Martin, they have no idea what he is like.

This is motivated by other factors and in the two prominent cases was under consideration before the coaching change.

Their basketball experience hasn't been positive here. They have opportunities to go elsewhere and maybe win and play n better environments, I know fans want to dispute that their actions have consequences. But the non support of the fan base impacted the guys on campus and the idea well now it will be better is possibly illusory and asking of way too much understanding.

These kids just went through a bad year in which no one watched them when they were ridiculed. Now the starting pg is again not committed to the team, they have a totally unfamiliar staff coming in, and why would it look better to them in the short term?

You make an awful lot of assumptions here, especially considering you don't know a single one of them personally.

I think we are all best reserving judgement on character for when we look in the mirror.

quit taking it personally. the up/down vote system is for thread sorting. if you post a bunch of crap then yea you're rating will go down, probably as it should. i'm sure you're precious 5*s aren't going anywhere.
