I think the 3 coaches we could not afford to lose at this point are Ward (recruiting strong), Mangus and Elliot. Fitz is a big blow but was relieved to see we promoted Connolly even though I did not know who he was. Reading that he was Fitz's right hand man and will train the guys like Fitz did is a relief. How the kids respond to him vs Fitz is still up in the air.

I say pay him and reward Brad Lawing for his loyalty as well.

I'm not sure you ever stop a coach from looking or listening to an offer. The question is going to be, is it a better situation than the one I have?

Considering all the problems we have had with Offensive Line coaching over the past 10 years or so I think a substantial raise for Elliot is in order.
We must remember one thing however and that Coaches are pretty much like the rest of us. Most people including Coaches work hard for their current employers and are loyal while there.
When the opportunity for a hefty raise presents itself how many of you would turn it down? Not me. Well,once. I was offered a position in Ohio that was my dream job. If I had had a month to write up what i wanted in a job I would have fallen short of that offer.
So why did i turn it down? The two days I interviewed it was 3 below zero,sleeting and with winds blowing 20 MPH.
