No reason for it to be disappointing. I don't know why people keep thinking that these two good seasons were going to upgrade recruiting drastically. It takes about 3-5 to do it on the level of UGA, bama, and lsu every year. We've been finishing that way for the past couple years, and it hasn't affected us yet. As long as the staff continues to evaluate well, the program will be fine.
Ally will beat the crap out of Uga.
Once you get past the top 3 classes in the SEC the difference between classes in the middle are 1-2 recruits and the opinions someone has on their upside.
We will NEVER have highly rated classes unless there is a Devonte Holloman, Stephon Gilmore, Alshon Jefferey, Marcus or clowney type player in state. This year was a down year in state (next year may be the best EVER in state) and we still wound up with a consensus top 20 class. IMO (maybe not shared by many) I will trust our staff to evaluate and develop much more than getting excited over a top 5, top 10 class or whatever the ranking.
It also helps when you are able to sign 25-30 recruits in a class.I want to see how many of these 5 star and high 4 star prima donas are around in 2 years.USC had at least 12 kids that have been committed for 6+ months.Tell me that does not affect recruiting ratings.Character ,heart,coaching.........................repeat
We are recruiting well enough to have the type of teams we had the last year. And that team had enough talent to win the national title game.
I am satisfied with our recruiting.
