Reminiscing: Jason Barnes

South Carolina has a 16-member class that was honored on Senior Day. In the buildup to bowl season, we’ll reminisce over the career of each player in a Gamecock uniform.

  • All I got to say about Barnes before reading the article is that touchdown at Ole Miss in 2007 was UNBELIEVABLE!!! One of the best catches I've seen in my life. Also, regardless of balls thrown his way or playing time he ALWAYS kept a smile on his face. True team player!! We'll miss his great attitude as a team guy more than some may realize!

  • Love J. Barnes. That Ole Miss catch will not soon be forgotten.

  • After his red-Shirt freshmen year I was thinking he would be one day breaking Rice's stat's. But it was not in the plans. He did how ever become a great Blocker to open up some holes for Lattimore and company. For that I am thankful. I remember that he was upset when he lost his starting position to DL Moore and if you asked me at that time if he was going to stay I would have thought he would transfer somewhere as others have. But he stuck it out and is a true gamecocks. I hope he gets a chance as a Grad Assistant and possible could get into coaching some kids. Great Gamecock.
