  • I'm willing to bet he won't get a degree or finish his elegibility from Alabama State. I think he'll end up at at least one more school and never sniffs the NFL.

Hope you're wrong. Maybe he can turn his life around and pull it together enough for a NFL run ala Janoris Jenkins. Without football that kid is headed to prison or worse.

yes, but at the same time do we really need a guy who has had this much trouble already being paid millions of dollars? seems like he is a trainwreck waiting to happen either way.

  • I live hear in Montgomery and this is the the buzz that I am also hearing. It is still hard to believe that Coach Barlow at ASU is going to take this liablilty on, but only time will tell if he gets his act together. I know there is nothing to do here in Montgomery so in comparison with Athens, the night life is non existence for athletes here in Montgomery and he might not have any option but to stay out of trouble. Will see, just glad he doesnt play for jawga anymore.

  • He still has a matter of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Usually a case like this is turned over to ATF for prosecution since that is a federal offense. And the feds don't usually give paroles. We'll see

  • More than likely he will get probation for a couple of years w/ random drug testing (that will be what leads him to the pen - failing the drug test). This was his first offense or strike on his criminal record, although it is a serious one I know. With the penitentiaries being as overcrowded as they are they are usually more lenient with first time offenders.

Posession of a scratched out serial number ON school property.......

No, no, there most likely will NOT be probation here. (Toss in second offense maryjane....) He's doing some time. It's just going to be a little bit more crowded.

Doesn't matter (apply) to us, though....

He didn't get caught with any weed or mary jane. They said an odor was coming from the car but they didn't find or charge him with any mary jane.

He doesn't have a criminal history. This is his first offense and with a good lawyer he will def. just get probation.
Unless they track the gun to something bigger.

There was no property damage to anything and there was no who was injured. This was just a boneheaded crime. Nothing was thought out before hand or premeditated. Couple that with being a first offense, as meaning no prior history, and the judge will put him on house arrest or probation.

The nature of this crime doesn't deem him a harm to anyone else or to any property; that is why he will get probation. Like I said no one was injured in the process of this crime and no property was damage.

I could be wrong when it is all said and done, maybe Ga. law is different than SC but I would be dollars to donuts he gets probation.

Also here is an article from a legal expert saying that Crowell with most likely get probation.

    Here is the quote:
"According to criminal defense attorneys contacted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Monday, Crowell likely will get probation since he does not have a previous criminal history."

Ok, thanks for sharing and clearing that up. Much appreciated. With what hasbeen happening on school campuses across the country, having a gun ON school property was
an area the feds would treat a bit more harshly. We'll see what happens. have a good one!
