Different strokes for different folks.
Look, I used to beat up on SOS for his lack of being 'involved', or being the Saban/Urban 'type'. But, let's get real - SOS is the reason those kids are representing USC in this draft and not another team. And, it's really not that big of a deal.

Can see both sides, would love to see him there supporting the guys that really turned this program around, but really it doesn't matter at all. Its not about him, its about them.

I don't think it's that big of a deal that Spurrier, like most of the coaches of players invited to NY, isn't there. Going to the draft is definitely an "extra credit" move on the part of those coaches who are there. There's no sense in pretending, though, that Saban's presence has a purpose other than to gain a recruiting advantage.

Saban likes kissing ass and fellating 17 year olds' senses of self...Spurrier likes being a smart ass and hoping they enjoy his sense of humor.
Saban gargles twice a day and swallowed a ton last year. It got him some NC's, but his breath must be horrible.

Just curious....what is the legal limit of downvotes allowed for one thread? This is just dumb. Why is it the same names are always attached to the nitpicking? Would have given you a pass if the title of this thread was, "Would've been cool to see SOS stand up and hug Stephon and Melvin when they're names were called..." But "dropping the ball" is just ridiculous.

Those making accusations about SOS having nothing else to do, or not caring about our players being drafted tonight, might want to check on a certain event which took place tonight in the Zone at WB stadium.
Palmetto Health had a major fundraiser for Children's Hospital, and our "insensive and uncaring' head coach was giving his time having his picture made with anyone who wished, with all proceeds going to cancer treatment and research. This seems more important than being in New York! Just saying....

It has nothing to do with an extra recruiting effort, it has to do with a college coach going to an NFL event. Firstly, its not an NCAA event. Secondly, Spurrier does not seek the spotlight like some other guys. I don't think it is a college coach's place to go to the NFL draft.
