IMO this is the difference in the taters and us. clemsux is able to get top talent like Watkins and Bellameme and other pre madonnas. the recruits go to cu and realize the players run the show there they get treated like queens like florida with urban meyer the inmates run the prison. USC and Spurrier recruit high chararcter kids with clear heads and they really care about grades. You have to go to class to play here no one is above the team. The taters players get away with what ever they want they probably don't go to class. IMO with the way some big time players like the easy road (taters) and not a discipline and hard working road (USC) so they pick the taters. Abo probably recuits players telling them they will have the easy road if they go there. I am glad our coaches recruit high character kids with talent. This kid is an example.

    I don't like Clemson anymore than you do but this is a lil overboard (imo).

    Think you are trying to justify Sasser being ranked a 3* but anyone who follow recruiting knows that you can't go by what players are ranked. Some of the best Gamecocks were 3* guys. (Ingram, Norwood, Rice)

    Ingram was 4. Norwood was a high 3 and Rivals didn't put him higher because of academics.

    Both of our guys that will be drafted in the first round this year were 4 stars. The other who might go in the first round was 4 stars. Out of the others who may get drafted, Robertson Allen and Watkins, 2 of those were 4 stars. Ingram's replacement is 5 stars. Gilmore, Alshon, Allen, and Robertson's replacements are 4 stars.

    The current best players on our team, Lattimore and Clowney, are 5 stars.

    If the coaches feel that, out of the thousands of HS and JUCO players in the US, Sasser is among the 20 best players we'll be able to sign in February then I'm happy with his commitment.

    Its no coincidence our best two year span in since ive been alive has been built on four star laden recruiting classes. The Core of our team the last 2 years have been filled with four stars starting and backing up starters.

    That said, I like this kid sasser as a DB. Really like him at strong safety. Then again, i also like mohamed camara's film, so maybe i'm just becoming easy to please in my old age.
