He reminds me so much of Sterling Sharpe, the way he runs. I can't wait to see him on the field at WB.

Shaq is even more impressive in person. Most of the things he does is with double coverage. Kid is magic with the ball in his hands!

I am not going to blast you, but what qualifications or background do you have to make the determination of whether the guy is elite.
He has major offers from everyone in the southeast, he is a top 50 guy in the country and he dominates H.S. competition. In other words, every coach and recruiting analyst around thinks the guy is elite. What about him doesn't seem elite to you?
I attached his junior highlights as well. He reminds me of Derrick Hamilton with better ball skills.

Oh, sure...nothing elite about his:
Break-away speed
Using hands at the LOS to get off jams
Open-field vision with the ball in his hands
Vertical ability to grab jump balls
Height and length
Ability to play wide or in the slot
Hands
Yeah...you're right. Nothing elite here to see....

It's funny how defensive people get when a different opinion is offered, especially something as subjective as this. College coaches, hell NFL GM's for that matter, are wrong every year -every day- about this stuff.

I guess the question is what about the video do you see that isn't elite? In my opinion, he should be right there pushing for a five star ranking. His change of direction, body control and athleticism are on par with pretty much any skill player in America. The way he puts his foot in the ground does remind me a lot of Warrick. Again, I'm not knocking your opinion, just trying to figure out what you're seeing (or not seeing.) I think he'd be a very good corner as well. I think he's the jewel of this class.

I don't think there is any backlash here. I think people want to know why you don't think he's elite. The other posters have backed their opinions of why they think he is elite, but you haven't given a reason why he isn't.

JMHO, but when I watch the OP's video, I see a true WR that runs good routes and uses his hands well to get seperation, as well as RB-like vision and moves. He has legit speed (as seen in vertical routes) and that "wiggle" you can most clearly see in the return game. I for one would cast my vote for Roland being a 5-star as an athlete because that is what he truly is, an ATHLETE.

I coached the qb in middle school and yes he is very good . He is a sophmore and took over the offense in a scrimmage before his freshman season began and has not looked back since. I do know the kid is a huge Clemson fan though so I'm guess it will be an uphill battle if he turns put to be a big D1 player. In regards to Shaq anyone who doesn't think the kid will be a game changer has not seen him play in person. He definitely has the ability to completely take over a game by himself. I encourage everyone to try and make it to a Lexington at some point this year. Their offense is alot of fun to watch.
