The notion that Shaw played poorly against ECU is horseshit. Go back and watch the possessions. He had drops, oline penalties,a Lattimore fumble, and a special teams turnover. He did not play as poorly as you seem to remember.

I actually never said anything about Shaw looking horrible. Our offense didn't fare well with Shaw and Lattimore in the lineup, for whatever reasons. Shaw has improved greatly since the last time they were on the field together (can't really say that about Lattimore, though I have no doubt he will return just as good or better than before). So I was agreeing with the OP, there is reason for optimism.
Too little reading comp in this thread, too much jumping to conclusions.
