  • Congrats to all, mostly to Chisolm. Good to see a payoff, hopefully it pays off also on draft day.

  • Pleasantly surprised to see Chisholm. Shocked to see Gilmore. Also glad to see Cliff and Devin get second-team recognition - especially Cliff.

    Spurrier...I appreciate him plenty

  • Glad to see that everyone who is from South Carolina , except AJ Green, is on the list playing for The USC. Stay home boys win championships.

  • Just goes to show that those who know football would not just love to have Gilmore on their team, they would also have him as a starter on their team. Meanwhile, those that manage fantasy Gamecock squads would have him riding the pine. I'll trust the opinions of those who make millions coaching the game because there is clearly something that they see and like. Congrats to Gilmore!

Well that's two lists that have praised Gilmore. Could it be that as fans we really don't understand what we are watching enough to truly decipher what's causing the issues? Seems the press and coaches have disagreed with the strong criticism of SG, but heck what do those folks know, they should clearly base their voting on the judgement of us on the internet.

Oh and completely agree on Chisholm, hopefully the Combine will love him and a nice draft pick awaits him.

You raise a good point but as usual you tarnish it with an unnecessary dose of sarcasm. At least you didn't weigh in with what the insiders say on the matter.

I think it says a lot about how we need to recruit instate. All 6 of our players that made All-SEC are from SC. For whatever reason it seems like players that we recruit from instate end up panning out more often. We have to close with Clowney, Dukes, Adams, Dixons etc instate this year.

  • -------------------
The All-SEC squad had 12 first-team seniors, 12 juniors, two sophomores and one freshman.
    -------------------
I was really excited reading this. The two sophomores and one freshman are all from South Carolina. Another way to say it: South Carolina is the only school that places Sophomore and Freshman in this year's first team All-SEC.
SOS has built a solid foundation here!

  • I'm thrilled for Chisolm.

Yet another well deserved accolade for Latt

Not to deadhorse, but now the coaches even praised Gilmore for his play...and 1st team at that?

    wtf???

yea, he was in on a bunch of tackles, but got beat more than redheaded step-child in coverage.

I guess "reputation" from his stellar frosh year overrides what they "saw"...something tells me they didn't watch what we saw on a weekly basis. Certainly FAR from a lock down corner we saw most of last year and hoped to see even more this year with experience. Hell every play he's looking and asking for help right before the snap. Kid looks absoluely lost in coverage.

I'm gonna chalk it up to a soph slump and hope he regains his edge and confidence. Kid certainly has the the proven ability.

FSU has to be licking their collective chops.

  • Nice to see Nick Bell given Honorary Captain. I'm not sure if they do that every year but that is a touch of class from the coaches who voted for this.
