Spending a few days in Vegas & pretty cool

Event going on here. Noticed bunch of guys in casino that looked like former athletes. Chatted a bit and found out that over 300 ex LA Raiders and coaches are coming in for a July 4 celebration of Al Davis' birthday. Supposedly, he always celebrated his July 4 in Vegas and his family is doing this for the first birthday since his passing. Madden & Art Shell are among those planning to attend. I've never been a Raider or Al Davis fan. But, seeing that many ex NFL guys and coaches is pretty cool. Don't know how much this bash cost, but went down to play couple of baseball games and the entire sports book was closed and booked for this private party.

Nice, like that place. If u get a chance, go see Jersey Boys. Really good sushi restaurant at Planet Hollywood that overlooks Belliago fountains. Bobby Flay's place Mesa grill at Caesar's is really good for lunch or brunch.

Depends on the days you go and who is performing. I would look at the line up and go from there. Jersey boys are good, but there are plenty of other places to eat. Broadway burger bar has the best burger in Vegas. Also, mexican...pink taco at the hard rock. Nobu is the best sushi in town also....dont worry though i ran out of money the last day and had to eat at the wiener schnitzel. It was turble.

You do realize PH in Vegas is a casino as well, right? So what makes going to a restaurant there so different from a restaurant at the Hard Rock casino?

Been to both and neither are exactly the greatest in Vegas, but they're both what you make out of them. The only time I've been in PH was with a group of friends and we had a blast at the craps table. Most of us walked out of there at least $500 richer than when we arrived. Basically what I'm saying is you can have a blast in Vegas no matter where you are as long as you are with fun people and have a good attitude (winning helps too). Sure Hard Rock is nicer, but its not like PH is the IP. And I've had just as much fun at the IP as anywhere else in Vegas.
You don't have to act like a baller in Vegas and only go to the so-called 'hip' places. Half the fun of Vegas is slumming it every now and then in the Bill's Gambling Hall type places.
Would I ever stay at those places, no, but they're fun to visit.

BTW, Hard Rock used to have a great party around 4th of July weekend. Went three years in a row around this time. Needed to be a high roller or have a good casino host to be admitted.

Dude you've been to Vegas once in your life maybe. The Hard Rock Party is Rehab, and it's on Sunday's. It's funny been out there this time of year for about 10 years now and never heard of you making the trip. You're always stuffing your face on the couch at IOP talking about young college boys, their bench presses and 40 times.
