  • Someone is getting a steal with Jeffery. With Blackon not being 6'1 (he is 6'.07") and Floyd already having 3 DUI's - it is just a no brainier that Jeffery should be ahead of them. (maybe garnet color glasses here).

I just don't see Blackmon having the same kind of career in the NFL as Jeffery; but time will tell I guess.

  • Man, if we could get two top 10 and another in the first round that sure would be something our coaches could sell wouldn't it?

I've said from the beginning that Alshon will be a great NFL player and the teams that pass him over will regret it. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

  • Michael Floyd is Golden Tate reincarnate. GT was taken with the 60th pick overall in 2010 and he has done NOTHING!!!!

Incorrect. He did break into a doughnut shop in the middle of the night.

I watched him at the combine...As soon as he did the shuttle I knew he had a bright future in B&E.

  • It's great to be a Gamecock, no doubt about it.

  • There will be a lot of scurrying to get to the start of the second round if Alshon is still there. I could see the Texans taking a lineman at the end of 1 and trading up to get Alshon.

  • Is there any talk about the Panthers taking Alshon if he is available?

  • Do scouts live in some alternate universe?

I see absolutely no way that Kendall Wright of Baylor, much less Stephen Hill of GT are better than Alshon.

I can totally see how, by draft experts and scouts, Justin Blackmon and Michael Floyd could be picked right before or after Alshon. Blackmon way more than Floyd.

Can someone please explain to me how almost every draft 'expert' has Wright and Hill ahead of Alshon?

I don't agree with that. If Floyd can lay off the booze he's a good WR, nothing like Tate. And thats a big if. I hope don't equate every USC receiver to Troy fizzling out.

That said someone will get a bargain if
Alshon slips into the second. Future should take note that the combine is the biggest interview of their life. Be prepared

  • I also couldn't be happier for Stephon. He's the one that began the influx of great talent to USC that led to the change in culture of our football program. He chose us over Bama and told other recruits that we CAN build a winning program at USC. I may be giving him too much credit, but I really think he was a significant part of the rise of our football program.

  • I would like for Alshon's sake to be drafted in the first round but for my sake I would like to see my Colts take him with their second pick in the second round

  • This will actually work out better for Alshon in the long run b/c if he's picked at the end of the 1st round he will go to a good team with a good qb. I'd hate to see him toiling away on a team with a terrible qb. He'll get his money if he produces.

  • My Patriots source was not saying anything about Alshon as of the weekend FYI but I will ask for an update today

  • Stephon will be a great ambassador for USC along with Melvin and Alshon. I can see these guys coming back and helping us recruit future players here. When we are able to do that I think we will take the next step in recruiting. IMO

I completely agree with this. From what I have heard, he was a key recruiter for us with other elite prospects.

One thing that is amazing is Stephon started every game for us since the day he stepped on campus. For three years, we got more out of him than we normally get from guys who stay all four years. I do not blame him one bit for declaring for the draft, he obviously knew he would run well.

considering his contributions as a blitzer, and the fact that he was a bigger factor in the run game than the other corners in the draft, I could see an argument that he is the best corner available. Claiborne is not in the same league as Stephon in the run game, and as a tackler. Not taking anything away from Claiborne, just an observation.

Dre Kirkpatrick is definitely a step below Gilmore in run support, tackling, physicality, and coverage. I could see several bama guys being overrated this year. Barron and Richardson are not in the overrated category, but the LB's could definitely have their struggles.
