  • Ace apparently got his grade back as a mid to late second/early third rounder. What would he have gained by coming back? His buzz as a PR could not have been higher and he would not have had better WR numbers...his stock is now as high as it ever will be. AA as a punt returner and 45 catches 9 TDs . He is a magnificent and emotional player, best of luck to the man...

I agree with him. Its becoming a joke. Not one player who left early has had an impact

    Ko simspon out of football
    E cook special teams
Gurlley played for 1500 nfl teams
    Geathers bounced around, no impact
    Troy williamson out of football
    Rice hasnt done much

Gilmore and alshon will be good pros and i agreed with their choices
    Lat needed to go pro

Ace sanders is shocking to me.

Rice made a good decision. J Joseph is another one that made a good move.

Making money does not mean your a good pro....see Tim Tebow, David Carr

Staying doesnt make you a better pro. You have better coaching, better nutritionists, better strength and conditioning, and more time to hone your skills at the next level. If you fail at the next level it's usually because your were a marginal pro to begin with.

Logan Thomas? The only person who rates him a #1 anything is Logan Thomas and maybe Logan Thomas's mom. He is returning to school because he knows that's the only chance he will ever have to play QB again.

Mel Kiper has him as the number one rated Junior. Todd McShay has him as a first rounder. I live in Richmond, it has been all over the paper and radio that the Tech coaches are shocked hes coming back.

If that happens he has a degree...seems to be the point getting missed....the NFL stands for no for long, so you better have something to fall back on....

If it doesn't work out he has 1 year left to finish his degree and I don't think money would be an issue with $405,000 min salary......kid went off the 2nd half of the year, strike while the iron is hot, he will be a good pro like TY hilton was this year.

Whether a player goes in the 1st round or the 4th round is irrelevant. It's about whether coming back will improve the player's stock. I love ace but he will never be 1st round pick whether he comes back or not. If he feels that with the year he had and with the weak receiver class that this is the highest he wil go then by all means he should go. And to say that that other schools keep their underclassmen better then us is ridiculous. Lsu is losing around 10 underclassmen. For a player like Lewan to come is the exception not the rule.

Right. Someone who should have left early and hurt their stock by coming back? McKinley. His injuries and subpar senior year did not help him.

  • Some of our posters here that have reached sainthood should tell then staff that Ace owes them nothing and they need to get over themseleves.

  • I never said staying would make you a better pro. Im saying that i find is ridiculous that a 5-7 punt returner with a 4th round grade is leaving.

Isn't the reason you go to college, to make money? Would staying longer make them All Pro?

Record 74 and counting underclassman attempting to join the ranks of the NFL. Time will tell if they have chosen wisely.

NFL created unforeseen circumstances with the new rookie pay scales. All these guys want to get past that rookie contract as quickly as possible.

  • Again let me make myself clear. The point of all of my posts is that i find it amazing we lose so many guys early to the draft. Some are good choices, others baffle me. Ace is one i dont understand. Thats it, my point.

I am not going to cry over Ace leaving but it's clear it's not a wise decision.

Heres a tweet from Scott Wright from draft countdown.

Good decision by #SouthCarolina WR @AceSanders1 to enter the 2013 NFL Draft. Won't be any bigger next year and stock is maxed out. Top 100.

Not to play football. Ace can still get his degree, free of charge. How do you know he would have a degree after next fall anyways?

What's not to get? He won't get bigger and won't get any faster then whatever workout facility he chooses gets him to. If he stays he's still as you put it a 5'-7" punt returner.

It's a 2-3 round grade so quit throwing that 4 out. That's as high as it gets for someone his size. I don't think you are understanding the point that it can almost only go down. This is not a baffling decision at all. I was surprised he originally said he was staying. Also, as been stated many times, he could come back any time and finish his degree for free. Scam is finishing right now at AU.

No he should risk subpar season, injury, arrest, accident, chance that he isn't coming off MVP performance in the bowl game to come back and probably not be able to improve his stock, but surely be able to lower it. You take the money when it is highest. Whatever you think of Troy Williamson, he absolutely made the right decision. He got a top 10 signing bonus. Idc where he is now. One more year in school wasn't going to get him better than that, nor was it gonna have him still in the league.

Wow, that post right there. So hes going to get arrested? Wow buddy calm down. By the way he was given a 4th round grade.

My point was never that he should come back to improve his draft stock. Not one time did i say that. My point is come back to school, help us take the next step, continue in school. You only get one shot at playing college football. He comes out, gets cut by an NFL team, then what? All im trying to say.

In order for us to take the next step as a program Ace is the type of player we need to keep. Hes an impact player for us.
