No, he says what he really thinks for the most part. If somebody doesn't realize that by now, then they're intellectually lazy. He's probably not too far off the mark. The NFL players are not all conference and all american, some are from small schools and some only start one or two seasons of college for one reason or another.

I just think Spurrier was complimenting Bama on how good their team is. I think it is as simple as uld possibly take. It is hard to imagine, but winning a title at Bama would not be a big deal to Spurrier. He thinks that just makes you about average for a Bama coach, and he has a point.
5thHorseman is exactly right, imo. Even the most talented college team would be at best a practice squad in the NFL.

He probably thinks he needs to lighten up, and has taken the easiest paths to national titles one could possibly take.
