Steve Nash

  • Goes to my beloved Lakers. Now we just need Bynum to mature. Kobe says "hello Jordan" with his sixth ring.

  • Still not better than the Thunder or Spurs

  • I'm really hoping that Dwight Howard changes his mind about signing an extension with the Lakers. I don't think the Lakers are done though.

I don't think they're that far behind OKC.

  • Well I'm glad the Lakers decided to go with the lets get older rebuild. OKC will still own the West.

Kobe may get a 6th ring one day but he'll never be in Jordan's league.

  • That statement ain't even close to being true. I'm not getting into comparing the two though. I'm just hoping the Lakers give Goudelock more playing time. Kid is a pure shooter. Maybe Kupchack will finally sign another pure shooter. Kobe needs take a break this summer too...

  • I'm not entirely sure Kobe and Nash are going to co exist peacefully. When you first think about it, it sounds like a good move. But then when you think about playing styles, not so sure.

I don't know, it's pretty close now. Steve Nash brings some aspects to an offense that are unstoppable. He's the best passer in the game.

This makes the Lakers as big of a threat as anyone. They now have "the big 3 1/2".

It does seem like a playing style issue could develop. They had to make a move though. It's win now with all those old guys. Don't think it puts them above the Thunder

    Kobe will say, "Hello, Jordan."

Jordan will say, "GTFO of here with that, Kobe. You would only have two rings without Shaq, who won the Finals MVP all three times that you played with him. You have had exactly two triple doubles in your career. You can carry my jock, though."

The Lakers won't win because they got Nash. They still can't take the Miami Lebrons.

How many rings would Jordan have without Pippen?

Jordan was the best player on that team and Pippen never won Finals MVP.

Shaq was the best player on those Lakers teams. That was my point. Jordan might not have won six, who knows.

For now. However, if Boston can pull off signing Jason Terry, then I don't think there's that big of a drop-off.

I just don't understand Allen to Miami. He's got a ring so he doesn't need to go all Karl Malone/Gary Payton and go ring chasing, and he won't start for the Heat at 2. So basically he'd be taking a paycut to battle Mike Miller for who gets to come off the bench first. I would think he'd rather start in Boston and make one more run at it with his boys.

  • Statistically Jordan is well ahead of Kobe if you go by averages. Kobe has already played in more games than Jordan so he will end up with more points etc. but Jordan averaged almost 5 ppg more than Kobe and shot a higher %

    stmatthewscock3958

  • not a kobe vs mj thread bc thats just stupid. But Nash to the lakers will be interesting because I dont think Kobe has ever really had a true PG like a nash before. Nash is a guy that controls everything and makes everyone around him better. He might work out great or it might not, but if it does work out he will be able to give kobe and others some easier shots.

I hope Howard goes to the Nets, then we can actually have some teams compete against the heat besides boston. I also hope the pacers keep there team together and find just one more piece. They could of used a guy like Terry big time.

Miller probably won't come back next year. He was saying how he better get a ring this year because his body can hardly hold up now. Ray Allen to the Heat would be a perfect fit for him. Spot up, catch a pass, drain a three. Or chunk it back inside to Bosh who's going to kick it back out to LBJ or DWade and then they'll drive and put their junk all on someone's forehead for a dunk.

As far as Nash and the Lakers, they are doing nothing but getting older. A full season, not this 55 game crap that just happened, will hinder them substantially. It will also help the Thunder and Heat separate themselves even further from the pack. And if the Nets pick up Howard, then that'll be a pretty good team. They'll just need a couple pieces here and there.

And Kobe is never going to be Jordan. He'll finish his career as the second best scorer of all time, but not top 10 player of all time. Jordan gets at least 3-4 rings without Pippen, while Bryant only has two without Shaq.

  • Any idea whether Nash knows how to play defense? I'm sure he'd have no trouble stopping Westbrook!

Make sure that they remember, forever, the night they played the Titans!!!

No on defense, but few PGs stop Westbrook. Court IQ on the offensive end is what Nash brings to the table, and it's a move they had to make after losing out on Paul last season

nash can shoot and that is the biggest problem the Lakers have had since fisher got to old.

Shooters don't really get old. Fisher was never a great distributor. Nash is. Neither can defend the opposing PG
