Korn just said that Stoops in his mind is the guy based on what he knows. He is extremely interested. Stoops said that he doesn't need to have a million bucks thrown at him.
Sure sounded like he would love to be here. Financial considerations were not on Stoops' mind.

Alright. First of all it seems to me he is very interested in the job. Ill be surprised if he isnt the guy after hearing it.
He said he and EJs style are similar. The 4- 2- 5 and 4-3 he runs is similar. He has an extra LB in when they have multiple RBs in. still talks with Jr every other week. Knows this is a busy time and, wants to have a job after the first of the year. Money isn't as big of a deal but quality of life and job opportunity. Has about 5 schools involved and a few offers. He has built a relationship with SOS on the golf course and businesses deals with his brother. Mainly coaches the secondary.

If we hire Stoops it's a huge step for this program. That would mean a top tier DC chose S Car over Nebraska, A&M, OU(rumored), and possibly tOSU. Not to mention Clemson fans would have a meltdown of epic proportions.

Hypothetical question: Would you rather have a guy that recruit lights out, but has questionable coaching ability or a guy that is a questionable recruiter that coaches up the talent he has? As you ponder that question, think a/b the staff in Pickens County...I'll leave it at that...

said he wanted a annual trip to play Augusta National but would settle for a round every other year if he got the job here. said he played it last year with his older brother Bob and got to visit with Coach Holtz while there.

It sounded like he would be ours if we wanted. He said he has no issues in waiting until after the bowl game. He said that he's already been offered some positions but wants to weigh all of his options.
I honestly don't think he would have done the interview if this wasn't one of his top choices.
Hopefully ward would want to stay and learn under him. He would have a solid resume at that point. Bud foster, EJ and stoops

I believe Tony, or one of the staff members, mentioned in an article yesterday that Ward would remain in his current position and that the new DC would come in under the same title EJ had which is Asst. Head Coach. If that is the case, Ward is fine, still making the big bucks and still has same job functions.
