Taking Baby to game?

  • I have an 11month old that I would like to take to a football game this year. Does she need a ticket? Some sports events allow babies under 1 in without a ticket but I can't find mention online about gamecock football games. I assume she will need a ticket. Anybody know?

    Thanks.

  • Respectfully submitted, why would you take a baby to a football game? Your baby will never recollect the event and you probably will end up having to leave early. Plus, if your child becomes upset the people around you will be quite ticked. Personally, I'm against taking any child under five or six to a football game and, only then, if they are mindful children. Just my .02.

I completely agree with you. My sister brought her 3 yr old to the spring game a couple years ago, she began getting antsy and wanted to move around. I can't imagine bringing a baby. Ive heard the argument in the past that "we want our whole family to have this experience together" but the crying over loud noises and having to get up to settle the kid down etc, will be distracting to the game and people around you. Either stay home or have someone watch the kid. I think 3 is the youngest to a game. Please tell me you're not bring your baby to the movies guy, those people need to be arrested.

If you go against this advice I strongly recommend an aisle seat. You are going to be up and down more than a normal fan.

I would be in support of an isle seat, too. Maybe Edisto...

  • 11 mos old at a football game = bad idea. You and everyone around you will not have an enjoyable experience.

  • I probably won't take her if I have to buy another ticket. I agree with everyone about kids sitting in the stands. We just thought my wife would bring her in to see cocky and 2001 and then go back out to tailgate. I know she wouldn't be able to sit in the seat. I'll probably take her to a fan event or maybe a spring game then.

    Thanks.

I don't understand how this even enters into a person's mind.

I'm going to take my 3 year old to her first game against el CID not sure aboutbtaking the baby. At least it's not going to be as hot but the issue is the 11 month old won't have a clue what's going on and may cry... Not trying to get in your business as your free to bring a baby but it's a rough environment and the atmosphere is going to be good Saturday IMO. Wait till we play our fbs friends from charleston for a friendly family atmosphere.

If you do decide to tak the baby hope it goes well for you!!! Go cocks fingergun

  • I am taking my 4 year old boy and 6 year old girl to their first football games this year. I had already taken my boy to a basketball and baseball game to see how he would react in a stadium atmosphere first. If your kid can't sit still at home, they will never make it through even half of a game. We will only take them to day games when it is cooler and if they even begin to whine, my wife will take them back to the car.

Kids need to be exposed to the Gamecocks at an early age, but you need to know your child and their limitations. Otherwise you are just creating a miserable experience for you, your child and everyone around you.

She will need a ticket, but as a parent of a 2.5 yr old I strongly urge you not just yet. Wait till baseball season. She won't need a ticket and it's a lot easier on the kid/parents/ surrounding fans IMO. My little one has been to a couple practices, and a scrimmage. It was evident to me she's not ready yet (I knew this way before but it confirmed). Baseball games however work great, and she's been to quite a few the last few seasons. In fact her first games were in 2010,,, Good on you for starting her out early, but unless you're in a box or don't mind leaving 10 min I wouldn't recommend it for a multitude of reasons. I think mine will make her first OOC at 5 or 6 and maybe a light SEC opp the following year unless she really shows interest. 3.5 hours in a confined noisy environment could make the nicest, sweetest child very unpleasant. twocents Not sure why all the down votes. I mean what most would consider a less than great idea doesn't deserve a down vote IMO. I gave you an up vote for asking about the ticket, and now you have some extra opinions fwiw.

  • Why on earth you would want to take an infant to a football game is beyond me. (And I do love children; I have two, and two grandkids.)

  • I have a 4 1/2 yo that says go cocks at the tv, stomped on a stuffed tiger last november before tossing it in the campfire and knows marcus lattimore and that we dont pull for clemson or uga. But i will not dare take her to a game yet. She loved her first baseball game, but she could play there when she got restless.

  • She'll need a ticket and you both will be required to sit with BCMC05 and his dog in the no booing section
